Throwback Thursday and SOBI Connects to Free as they want to be

Enjoy the Hunter’s collection and new special exhibition Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory free of charge from 4-8 PM as part of our Throwback Thursday offerings. Then at 6 PM, join us in the galleries to experience the exhibition through the creativity of local Black poets, dancers, musicians, and creative visionaries.

Generous support for Throwback Thursday provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.

Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory is curated by Cheryl Finley, Ph.D., and Deborah Willis, Ph.D., and originated as a FotoFocus exhibition at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, on the occasion of the 2022 FotoFocus Biennial. The traveling exhibition is organized by Curatorial Exhibitions, Pasadena, California.
