Art+Issues: Free as they want to be Healing Circle

Thursday, December 10

Inspired by the images and stories behind the photographs in Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory, this healing circle, facilitated by Anthony M. Wiley Jr. of Welcome to Today, invites Black men into a space for honest conversation, reflection, and connection. Together, we’ll explore themes of freedom, identity, healing, and what it means to create space for ourselves and one another.

This is part of our Art+Issues series and is free to all.

Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory is curated by Cheryl Finley, Ph.D., and Deborah Willis, Ph.D., and originated as a FotoFocus exhibition at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, on the occasion of the 2022 FotoFocus Biennial. The traveling exhibition is organized by Curatorial Exhibitions, Pasadena, California.
