Sunday Studio

Enjoy drop-in art experiences for kids and families, making your own work inspired by works of art in the Hunter’s permanent collection and based on the theme “Where We Belong.” This month’s activity will be done in collaboration with students from Howard High School. Regular admission applies; members and youth 17 & under free. Free admission to Sunday Studio activities with Chattanooga Public Library card.

 

Newcomer students at Howard High School (1st year immigrant students, mostly from Guatemala) will be showcasing work in the studio hall and will be leading a hands-on activity related to being welcomed into a new place and feeling at home. Students will be exhibiting art entitled “I Belong Here” with words and images of the places they value in their new community of Chattanooga.

 

Guatemalan food vendors as well as vendors from other immigrant groups in Chattanooga to set up outside the museum during the 2-4pm event.
