Docents The Hunter seeks docents to be the exciting link between the art and the community. We are seeking energetic volunteers who enjoy working with others, particularly school children. No background in art or in teaching is necessary, just a love of learning and sharing with others.
Docents will receive first-rate training on the history of American art and culture and on teaching techniques in the Hunter's collection. New docents will have the opportunity to learn both from Education Department staff and from experienced docents as they join in tours and experience the excitement of sharing knowledge with young minds.
Training begins on Wednesday September 13 at 9:30 a.m. with a reception in our new beautiful lobby area. Training will continue weekly on Wednesdays (with holiday and intersession breaks) throughout the fall. If you would like to join us and be in on the ground floor of this exciting new Chattanooga experience please complete the form below. Or, contact Hassan Najjar (hnajjar@huntermuseum.org; 752-2043) for more information.
