EDUCATION DEPARTMENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Education Volunteers
The Education department accepts college student volunteers on an as-needed basis. For more information, contact Adera Causey, Curator of Education, at (423) 752-2053 or email at email@example.com.
- Summer Camp Lead Counselors
Responsible for assisting camp instructors with classroom management and preparation. Counselors facilitate and plan activities for camper pick-up, drop-off, snack and lunch times. Summer Camp Lead Counselors must have graduated from high school. Can be done as an internship if permitted through your college.
- Summer Camp Counselors
Camp Counselors assist Camp Lead Counselors and instructors with camp activities. Activities include preparation of snack, preparation of art supplies, art projects, physical games (indoors and out), story time, etc. Summer Camp Counselors must be at least 15 years old. Can be done as an internship if permitted through your college.
There are 7 week-long camps in June and July. Each camp has morning and afternoon counselor shifts from 9:00-1:00 and 12:00-4:00. These time frames can vary based on schedules.
