Spectrum 2012: Saturday, November 10

The Hunter Museum of American Art will host Spectrum, the black-tie fundraising gala. The event features a seated dinner as well as silent and live auctions on Saturday, Nov. 10.

As the Hunter celebrates its 60th year, Spectrum 2012 raises money to support the Hunter’s many programs that benefit the Chattanooga area.

The gala, presented by the First Tennessee Foundation, is chaired by Jane Kline and her daughter-in-law Jennifer Kline. They are working with an experienced and creative committee to plan the gala and its related events. Spectrum events include a preview cocktail party Nov. 2, a Sunday brunch Nov. 4 and a curator’s lunch Nov. 7.

Since 1973, Spectrum has always had a great impact on the programs of the Hunter Museum. The live and silent auctions offer opportunities for seasoned buyers and novice collectors to find excellent buys on works of art while helping to support the museum.

The art for both the live and silent auctions will feature a variety of styles, prices and media. The committee for art selection is chaired by Mariah Mayfield and Taylor Monen. The committee visited galleries across the U.S. to select works for the auction.
