Dr. Barnwell To Speak At Cam Busch Endowed Arts For Health Lecture Series

CHI Memorial Foundation and the Hunter Museum of American Art are co-presenting the 17th annual Cam Busch Endowed Arts for Health Lecture Series. This year's event will be Thursday, May 18, 5 p.m. at the Hunter Museum of American Art. Dr. Ysaye Barnwell will return as this year's guest performer/speaker.


Fun for kids of all ages!

Chattanooga, TN (January 13, 2017) – The Hunter Museum of American Art invites children of all ages to create, play, and explore during summer camp at the Hunter! There are six different options for kids ages 6 to 14 and a week for 3 to 5 year olds. Hunter Museum summer camps offer immersive and fun art experiences for kids that boost creativity and teach kids new skills. Registration is open now at


For Older Children:



Full day camps run from 9am to 4pm and include snacks. Campers are asked to bring a peanut-free, brown bag lunch. Admission is $184 for members; $230 for non-members.


June 5 - 9

Street Level: Ages 12 to 14  

Young teens break boundaries in this camp when they discover spray paint as a way to make art and create their own graffiti work.


June 12 - 16

C-ART-ography: Ages 9 to 11

“X marks the spot” for treasure hunters and geography lovers alike when they create artistic maps and chart a new course for artistic adventure.


June 19 - 23

Move It, Bend It, Shape It, Sculpt It: Ages 6 to 8

Yoga and art become one when campers make their bodies into living sculptures and then create artistic sculptures with other media.


June 26 - 30

Art2 D2 Squared: Ages 9 to 11

Imagination meets invention when campers meld art and robotics to create something truly distinctive.


July 10 - 14

Art Detectives: Ages 6 to 8

Campers uncover the mysterious histories of art and artists and then create their own works filled with clues and mystery.


July 17 - 21

Mixed with Media: Ages 9 to 11

Go viral with art this week when campers learn more about messages in art and in social media. Participants will create their own mixed media works blending technology and traditional media to make their own viral sensation.


For Pre-K Children:

HALF DAY CAMPS July 24 - 28

9am - 12noon (for ages 3 to 4)

1pm - 4pm (for ages 4 to 5)

Let your littles enjoy a fun sampling of many art forms in an immersive half-day experience.

Snacks are provided. Admission is $92 for members; $115 for non-members.

All campers must be fully potty-trained.
