CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Jan. 14, 2014) – Avant-Art, the Hunter Museum’s young-minded contemporary group, works together with the Museum to bridge Chattanooga's vibrant art and social scenes and make the arts accessible to the community through a lively mix of events. Members of Avant-Art enjoy access to Hunter Museum events, gallery walks, members-only parties and other events throughout the year.
On Saturday, February 21, at 8:00 p.m., Avant-Art will host its premier annual event, Hunter Underground, for the eighth consecutive year. Sponsored by Lawson Winchester Wealth Management, Hunter Underground provides guests the chance to party in the Hunter Museum’s basement, which will be converted into a night club. The party will feature music by local DJ New Planet, great food catered by Alleia, and beverages.
The event also offers a silent auction of art geared toward the new collector. The silent auction will feature unique works by local artists such as Scott Hill and from Birmingham and Chattanooga area galleries. A preview of the silent auction items will be available at www.huntermuseum.org.
“Underground offers a fun and exciting way to explore the variety of art being created in our region and a great way to show your support for the Hunter Museum,” said Leah Meulemans, Avant-Art Committee Chair.
