CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2008) - Avant-art, the Hunter Museum of American Art's young-minded contemporary group will host Hunter Underground on Friday, March 27, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
This is the second year for Hunter Underground, an event that features great food, beverages, live entertainment and a silent art auction of 30 items priced around $1,000 or less. Works in the silent auction are by regional artists from galleries in Chattanooga, Nashville and Charleston, SC. A preview of the silent auction items will be available on the Hunter's Web site, www.huntermuseum.org, beginning in March.

This year, the live entertainment will feature "Jaggered Edge," a Rolling Stones cover band. In keeping with the rock 'n' roll theme, some of the silent auction items will have a rock 'n' roll feel as well.
Tickets for the Hunter Underground can be purchased on the Hunter's Web site or by calling 423.267.0968. Ticket prices: "Groupie" tickets are $40 per person and include food, beer, wine and soft drinks; "VIP" tickets are $75 per person and include a preview party on March 19, food, full bar, Hunter Museum membership and access to a special VIP lounge.
Tickets are required and are on sale through Wednesday, March 25.
This year's Hunter Underground is sponsored by Regions Bank, Mayfield Pest Control and Taco Mamacita. Food will be provided by Events with Taste Catering and the beer is provided by Carter Distributing.
