Do something different for lunch—feed your your mind.
Why not take a real break at lunch and explore American art and culture as part of an Artful Lunch experience at the Hunter Museum?
Scheduling an Artful Lunch program allows you and a group of colleagues from work to spend a little time in the Hunter galleries, reflect on works of art, explore your own ideas about the art and related issues, and get to know your co-workers.
An Artful Lunch can be a great team building exercise as your group works together to discover the meaning behind the works of art and the way that these works resonate in our world today. Each Artful Lunch program includes three separate gallery experiences on three days of your choosing. Your group will have an opportunity to explore the galleries with a Hunter curator to learn more about how current events can be seen in paintings created years ago.
You and your group can choose a theme that most interests you and dates that best fit your schedule. Choose from themes such as the American economy, American identity, interpersonal communication, teamwork, images of leadership, Americans in the workplace, generational change and images of power. Select one of these or choose your own. Then, on your selected dates, your group will explore a series of paintings and discuss how they relate to your chosen theme or workplace issue. During each session, your group will spend about 20 minutes in the Hunter galleries followed by either a lunch in local restaurant of your choosing (or brown bag it if you'd like).
If you are a member of a professional or service organization that would like to participate in a similar experience during evening hours, an Artful Evening can be arranged followed by cocktails at a local establishment.
Cost is $15/person for the full three-day series (not inclusive of lunch or drinks). To learn more or to sign up, contact Adera Causey at (423) 752-2053 or acausey@huntermuseum.org
