Join us on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. and celebrate as members of the Friends of African American Art choose a contemporary African American artwork to be added to the Hunter Museum's permanent collection.
Friends of African American Art is a membership interest group formed by the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and the Hunter Museum of American Art for art lovers who are interested in preserving and showcasing African American art. Members of Friends of African American Art are dedicated to fostering a rich cultural environment for individuals of all backgrounds through education about and promotion of all facets of African American art. FAAA will purchase works of African American art for the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and Hunter Museum of American Art.
You must be a member of Friends of African American Art to cast a vote for artwork selection, so join today. The event is open to the public. Admission is free to members of Friends of African American Art, $25 for non-members.
