The Hunter Museum offers internship opportunities based on department needs and availability. Please complete and submit an Intern Application to apply.

Available Internship Opportunities:

Museum Education Internship – Gallery Teacher


Project Description: Under the guidance of the Manager of School and Family Programs, the intern will conduct tours for a variety of ages in various galleries of the Museum. The intern will be given through training and materials. They may also help in developing new tours and new approaches to the tours that already exist. Intern must be a rising junior or senior from a local university/college. Interns can also be recent graduates.


Hours: This internship requires at least 10-12 hours per month for a minimum of 4 months. Must be available on weekday mornings; some work may be done outside of the Museum.


Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Student may receive credit issued by college/university if approved.


Qualifications: Experience working with others

Interest in art, history, and education

Enthusiasm and Creativity

Museum Education Internship – Family Programs


Project Description: Under the guidance of the Manager of School and Family Programs, the intern will help create and facilitate family programming for several family events throughout their internship. Intern must be a rising junior or senior from a local university/college. Interns can also be recent graduates.


Hours: This internship requires at least 10-12 hours per month for a minimum of 4 months. Some work may be done outside of the Museum.


Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Student may receive credit issued by college/university if approved.
