Analysis

This photograph is one of a series created by contemporary artist William Christenberry that depict an increasingly familiar scene of fading Southern communities evidenced by decaying roadside structures. Alabama native Christenberry often focuses his art on his native region. His use of photography is inspired by Walker Evans documentations of the social and cultural landscape.
